Just Because

There is no point to this post actually.  I really have nothing to say, other than I couldn't possibly get these shots without sharing them:

Johnny Weir!

 

Johnny Weir and Tara Lipinski are doing the Figure Skating commentary for NBC during the day if they air live, and for live streaming on the Internet.  However, when NBC plays the Figure Skating back at night during primetime, the commentators are Scott Hamilton and Sandra Bezic, so I don't think any of you are seeing them on TV.

Since my shift starts at 9pm and the Figure Skating always starts at 7pm local time, I often come in early to watch it live, and we have really been enjoying the commentary by Johnny and Tara.

They are a little more lively than Scott and Sandra, and because we are watching the live feed from the venue, we can often hear what they are saying even when they go to a commercial (and this is often when the funny stuff comes out).

Valentines Day!

Johnny has a unique fashion sense and has been making the most of his TV appearances, always looking fabulous (sometimes to the dismay of Tara, who has to wonder what she has to do to outshine him, although she looks pretty fantastic herself!)  They've actually been coordinating their outfits and have been having a lot of fun with the reaction they've been getting online.

When they came into the studio tonight to do a bit with Bob Costas, we were hoping that we might be able to get a shot with them, and as luck would have it, John and I saw them in the hallway and they were gracious enough to stop and do some photos with us.

Unfortunately, as Johnny came out first (no pun intended) we weren't able to get a picture with the two of them together, but it was still pretty cool to meet them.  Johnny is one of a kind, and Tara is still a cutie, although I remember her as the 15 year old who won Gold in Nagano 1998.  Hard to believe that she is now 31... time flies!
